THE RATTLE
The rattle is basically an idiophone with loose elements that strike the main body, either internally or externally. Often made of wood or other hard natural materials, the rattle is generally used to produce a rapidly repeated and sharp sound. Among the many types of rattle are the 'vessel' or 'receptacle' type, made from a gourd or other container which may have beans or shells inside that vibrate against the wall of the vessel when it is shaken.
Process:
As we were asked to use pet bottles or coconut shells i chose to use bottles.
At first i took a glass bottle from the junk and using a thread and coins i started to tie the coins along the length of the bottle. I couldn't acquire the amount of gap the i desired between the bottle and the coin.
Then i thought of tying a netted sack filled with coins into the bottle's mouth but the sound
wasn't great.
