Our next assignment was to make a wind instrument that would work with natural wind.
As I had just discovered the stretched balloon I was hoping I could create something that would direct the wind on to the stretched membrane.
This was the idea behind the basic structure.
But I decided to elaborate on this idea and make it my final project.
Instead of this I decided to use a cycle wheel and put beads on to the spokes, so that every time the wind blows the beads would hit the rim of the wheel and create sound. I used flaps on the rim of the wheels so that the wind would rotate the wheel.
I was suggested to use 5 flaps instead of 4 so that there would be almost constant motion.
Another suggestion was to add a fan to the front of the wheel so it would act like a mini wind turbine.
